Jobs for ex-LTTE combatants with Tristar Apparels


Tri Star Chairman Kumar Devapura

Several thousand misguided LTTE women cadres who have been rehabilitated have been given jobs at Tri Star Apparels in Ratmalana. The first batch of these women 150 in number will be given permanent employment at the Ratmalana garment factory today.

"These women will be given cash benefits such as salaries, cost of living allowances and overtime.

They will also get hostel accommodation at the Ratmalana factory with food, life insurance cover, housing loans, medical facilities and other allowances," Tri Star Chairman Kumar Devapura said. Tri Star Chairman Kumar Devapura has extended cooperation to the Government in helping these displaced women find employment. Tri Star Group has also set up a manufacturing plant in Trincomalee creating 1,000 job opportunities there. Tri Star has agreed to recruit 1,200 IDPs to this factory.
