Lankan teachers for Korea

Over two thousands English teachers would receive an opportunity in teaching English in South Korean schools soon.

Korean Ambassador in Sri Lanka Choi Ki-Chul apprised Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena that the Korean Government is ready to recruit 2,000 Sri Lankan teachers to teach English in Korean schools during a meeting with the Minister.

The Ministry sources said that this is the first time that Sri Lankan teachers are receiving teacher appointments in Korea.

The Korean Ambassador has promised assistance to upgrade the Sri Lanka’s education sector too during this meeting.

Ministry sources said that the Ambassador would provide over 2,000 digital pianos and blackboards to the primary schools in the country. He said a teacher training centre would also be established under the Korean assistance in the Homagama area soon.

Minister Bandula Gunawardena promised to grant a land to establish a school for Korean students in Sri Lanka. Education Ministry Secretary Sunil Sirisena is also in the picture.
