Indo-Lanka Free Trade Agreement marks 10 years:

Trade grows ten fold

Sri Lanka’s overall trade with India is growing closer to six fold and exports from Sri Lanka are growing ten fold. The increased diversity with greater value addition in exports from Sri Lanka is a positive development. March 2010 marks ten years since implementation of the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (ILFTA) and during this period trade between the two countries expanded rapidly.

City hoteliers ready for IIFA visitors

To provide 400 rooms free:

The Hoteliers’ Association said Colombo city hotels will reserve 400 rooms for four nights free to guests coming for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA). Hoteliers’ Association of Sri Lanka (HASL) President, Srilal Miththapala told Daily News Business that the Association will give its fullest support with their expertise and logistics to make IIFA a success.

DIMO launches Star Bus

Vehicle imports by Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC in the first quarter of 2010 has shown a significant growth as against last year. DIMO Chairman and CEO Ranjith Pandithage introduced the newest version of passenger transport bus in the TATA bus range, Star Bus yesterday. Pandithage said the Star Bus is introduced to take passenger transport in Sri Lanka to greater heights, keeping in mind the country as a tourist hub.
