ChoKoLAATe Mother Daughter Fashion Contest 2010
For the first time in Sri Lanka finely tailored designer wear by 12
aspiring designers took to the ramp modelled by real-life mothers and
daughters. Titled 'ChoKoLAATe Mother Daughter Fashion Contest 2010' the
event unfolded at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre on May
8. This unique concept was the brainchild of MG square Inc., publishers
of ChoKoLAATe magazine.
Cheruka Mahakumarage (25), who was a student of Lanka Institute of
Fashion Technology (LIFT) and B.SC Fashion and Apparel Designer graduate
from Bangalore University emerged winner.
She chose 'shades of pink' as her theme. Aqeelah Nulair (16)who based
her designs on the theme 'Tropical Island' was the first runner up while
Royal Institute International School student Duleeka Williams was the
second runner up with the theme of 'African Paradise'. Our photographer
