The Japanese Ambassador extended the support during a meeting held
with Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena at the Minister's residence
recently.
The Japanese Ambassador said the status achieved by Sri Lanka within
Asia just after one year defeating terrorism is significant and the
country gained an opportunity to achieve economic prosperity under the
leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Countries get this type of opportunities rarely. It is not a
difficult task to convert Sri Lanka into a developed country with the
contribution of all citizens, he added.
Minister Sirisena admired the assistance provided to Sri Lanka by the
Japanese Government through the Japanese International Cooperation
Agency (JICA). |
