Road from Boralesgamuwa to Pepiliyana closed

The Road Development Authority (RDA) yesterday requested the public to use alternative roads by avoiding travelling along Rattanapitiya junction as the Colombo-Horana road from Boralesgamuwa junction to Pepiliyana junction was closed from 10.00 p.m. yesterday to 5.00 a.m. May 24 (Monday) to construct a new bridge across Katuela at Rattanapitiya.

Vehicular traffic on the Colombo-Horana road came to a standstill when the Rattanapitiya junction came under water during the past few days. This old bridge will be replaced to stop the area from being flooded.

According to a RDA official, Labour Relations and Productivity Improvement Minister Gamini Lokuge has urged authorities to take swift action to construct the proposed bridge at Rattanapitiya junction.

* Vehicles coming from Horana can use the Bellantota-Pepiliyana road via Bellanwila Rajamaha viharaya to reach Pepiliyana junction.

* Vehicles plying from Colombo to Horana can use the Bellantara - Pepiliyana road via Bellanwiala Rajamaha viharaya to reach Boralesgamuwa junction.

* Vehicles coming from Horana can use the old Kesbewa road to reach Delkanda junction and reach Colombo via Highlevel road.
