Malaysia to assist economic development

External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris met his Malaysian counterpart, Ahmed Musni Manadzlah, during the G-15 summit in Tehran, Iran.

The two Ministers discussed avenues of enhancing bilateral cooperation. Prof. Peiris enlightened the Malaysian Minister on the investment opportunities that have arisen in the post-conflict Sri Lanka.

Prof. Peiris also mentioned about the investment opportunities that have sprung up, specially in the North and the East, in sectors such as tourism, industries, fisheries, services and infrastructure development.

The Malaysian Minister assured Prof. Peiris of his country's commitment to assist Sri Lanka in achieving economic development goals.
