North Korea refutes allegations

N Korea: People’s Democratic Republic of Korea (PDRK) denied a campaign Wednesday, by the Government of South Korea about the sinking of a ship, which now constitutes the climax of the South Korean maneuvers to promote confrontation and war.

PDRK Committee for the Pacific Reunification of the Homeland accused the South Korean authorities of taking advantage of the incident to take the bilateral relations to a catastrophe, by saying that PDRK authorities ordered the sinking of the ship, according to statements published by news agency KCNA. The South Korean conservative Government assured it would prioritize the relations with the US as part of its foreign and domestic policy, and also distorted the Joint Declaration agreed on June 15 and another joint document signed on October 4 last year.

Warship “CHEONON” sank in March 26 evening in the Korean western waters. It had 104 crew members, of whom 58 were rescued. The others died or disappeared.

The cause of the shipwreck was an explosion but the PDRK was not linked with in the incident at the beginning. Later, this position changed completely.

Pyongyang issued a declaration on April 17 in which it refused the rumours and accusations.
