Hoist National Flag during Victory Week

Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry Secretary D. Disanayake announced that the Government has instructed all public institutions to hoist the National Flag during the Victory Week commemorations from May 14 to 20. The Government also expects all citizens to hoist the National Flag at every home and private institutions to commemorate Victory Week.

It is a national need to respect the gallant Security Forces who sacrificed their lives to crush the LTTE terrorists and protect the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland.

The Government reiterates it is the responsibility of all citizens to pay their gratitude and honour the war heroes who ended the terrorist war so that the people could live without fear.
