Woman wanted for assaulting cop arrested

A woman wanted in connection with an alleged assault on a Police Sergeant was arrested by Matara Police near Matara Fort. The suspect had shot in the air and attacked two persons including the Police Sergeant with a club.

The Police Sergeant was treated for his injuries for nearly one month at the Matara Hospital.

The suspect, a 30-year-old mother of three from Madiha, Matara is to be produced before a Magistrate.
