Workers demand jobs, better pay on May Day

Hundreds of thousands of workers marched, rallied and protested in cities throughout the world from Jakarta, Indonesia, to Istanbul, Turkey, Saturday to mark international worker’s day, demanding more jobs, better work conditions and higher wages.

NY’s Times Square evacuated in car bomb scare

Police evacuated the heart of New York’s packed Times Square area late Saturday on suspicion that a parked vehicle contained a bomb. New York Police Department (NYPD) Detective John Sweeney said the bomb squad was called to inspect a suspicious vehicle that was on fire in the square.
