Embassy celebrates

In honour of World Press Freedom Day, the United States Embassy will hold two programs. First, it will screen a series of films at the American Center on Tuesday evening. These films - including Network Citizen Kane, All the President’s Men, and Being. There - all examine the role of and threats to journalism in contemporary society. These screenings will be introduced by a Public Affairs Officer of the American Embassy and then followed by a discussion.

Second, the American Center has organized a training workshop on newsroom management by Terry Anzur, renowned journalism coach and former nightly news presenter from Los Angeles. Ms. Anzur conducted a one-day TV training workshop in Colombo last October. The workshop will be held at the American Center auditorium on May 12 and 13.
