BOI signs six new agreements
Total investment US $ 7 million:

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka granted investment approval for
six ventures to commence operations under the BOI. Chairman / Director
General Dhammika Perera signed the agreements on behalf of the BOI and
formally presented the BOI Certificates of Registration to the
investors. The new ventures will invest US $ 7 million and will create
700 employment opportunities.
Antane Ice Mill signed an agreement for a venture to establish an ice
manufacturing plant in Mannar. The venture under the Accelerated
Development Program of Eastern Province is an investment of over US $
140,000.
Regnis Appliances signed an investment agreement to manufacture and
assemble Home Appliances. The project under Nipayum Sri Lanka 300
Enterprise Program is for an investment of US $ 1.1 million.
An investment agreement for US $ 150,000 was signed with ATM Lanka.
The company will develop software for the local market.
Courtaulds Clothing Badalgama signed an agreement to manufacture
knitted fabric for the export market. The venture located at Badalgama
is an investment of over US $ 3.5 million.
Courtaulds Trading Company signed the agreement to set up an Export
Trading House. The venture located at Katuwelegama is an investment of
over US $ 100,000.
An investment agreement for US $ 250,000 was signed with Asian Rubber
for a project of pre/post harvest management of rubber and other crops
utilising advanced technology. |
