Buddhist talk
Ven. Welimada Jinalankara Thera will deliver a public Buddhist talk
in English on “Mindful Practice” at a meeting of the Servants of Buddha
Society on April 3 at 4.30 p.m. at Maithree Hall, Lauries Road,
Bambalapitiya.

talk about his base in an uprooted life abroad today at the Kolumbu

Cyclist dies in crash

A cyclist died when the cycle he was riding, collided with a van near
Puwakpitiya junction on Galewela-Dambulla main road on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Chandana Kumara, 31, a resident of
Galewela.
Galewela police are investigating.
Man knocked down
Matale district group corr
A 55 year old person who was walking along the Dambulla-Matale main
road was knocked down by a vehicle near the Lenadora junction. He
succumbed to the injuries after admission to the Dambulla base hospital.
The deceased was B. L. W. Ranatunga a resident in the Lenadora area.
Accelerated development program

An accelerated development program benefiting 50,000 lower income
generating families in Galle, Matara, Hambantota and Moneragala
districts will be implemented, says Southern Development Authority (SDA)
Chairman and Director General Ranjith Gunasekera. It will cover 600
projects and will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 200 million. |
