Fonseka in best of health

Medical Officers attending to General Sarath Fonseka detained at the Navy Headquarters maintain that his health condition has not deteriorated as alleged by his wife Anoma and other spokespersons.

The Army has provided medical services to General Fonseka regularly and round the clock since he continues to remain under Army care.

No complaint of sickness has been made by General Fonseka to this date, nor has any observation to that effect been made by the Navy Medical Officer in attendance.

In addition to the 24 hour medical services, the services of any medical specialist has also been made available to him as and when required, the Army Headquarters said in a release.

General Fonseka early yesterday received thorough medical attention from the Navy Medical Officer and a medical specialist in the presence of Mrs. Fonseka.

The Army reiterated that it is prepared to provide him with the best medical care at all times.
