Smooth transition at NDB Bank

Russell de Mel assumed duties as the CEO of NDB Bank on March 26. He succeeded Eran Wickramaratne.

Wickramaratne symbolically handed over his duties to de Mel at a recently held function.

NDB Bank has taken appropriate measures to ensure that the transition of the CEO would take place in a smooth and secure manner, while continuing to maintain its position as a solid financial conglomerate.

De Mel has been with NDB Bank for nearly 30 years, serving in various capacities, mainly in corporate banking.

He advanced to the position of Chief Executive Officer from his position held as Vice President - Head of the Corporate Banking Group; over the years he has held various positions in the field of Project Finance, partnered many of the key commercial projects funded by NDB and was actively involved in re-aligning the risk management function within the NDB group.
