CIS wins Big Match
A fine spell of seam bowling by Shaun Lindsay White 4 for 28 and a
good all round performance by Kithmina Hewage 50 not out and 3 wickets
and also a captain's knock of 54 runs by Pirindu de Silva helped CIS
beat Wycherly International School to win the Big Match by 8 wickets
recently at the NCC grounds.
Chief guests of the occasion were M. Chappel, Principal of CIS and
Kingsley Jayasinghe of Wycherly International School.
Scores -
Wycherly International School 201 all out in 48 (Anuruddha Higgoda
94, Nashan 54, Shaun White 4 for 28, Kithmina Hewage 3 for 20).
CIS 202 for 2 wickets in 41.1 (Maneshka Paiva 34, Shaun White 24
(retired), Kithmina Hewage 50 n.o., Pirindu de Silva 54).
Special awards:

Entries called for Soccer 7s
An all island seven-a-side soccer tourney organized by Young Silver
Sports Club will take place on March 28 and 29 at Cooray Park,
Wellawatte. The organizers have decided to restrict the tourney to 32
teams and the first 32 entries will be taken for the tournament.
There will be an exhibition match between Young Silver SC and a team
from Vavuniya, Hatton prior to the final on March 29. The winner will
receive a trophy and a cash award of Rs 25,000 while the runner-up team
goes with Rs 15,000 and a Trophy.
There will also be special awards for Best Player of the Tournament
and Best Goal Keeper. Entry forms and more details can be obtained by

Cricket encounter
The annual cricket encounter between Wedamulla Maha Vidyalaya,
Kelaniya and President's College, Pilapitiya organized by the Parents'
Association of the two schools will be held at the Mahara Prisons ground
on March 25 and 26.
