Senior Cager Nationals from tomorrow

The 47th Senior National Basketball Championship conducted by the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation and sponsored by Sri Lanka Telecom and David Peiris Motor Company will be held from March 26 at Police Park and St. Joseph's College, Nugegoda courts.

The organizers said that they want to improve the quality of basketball by producing skillful players, professional coaches, and competent referees.

"We manage our resources to optimize the benefits in developing the infrastructure, acquiring new technology and equipment best suited, and making the game popular among Sri Lankans to be on par with rest of the world.

Four hundred players including eighteen boys teams and nine women's teams will participate in this tournament and they are categorized into four boys groups and two girls groups.

Group A - Colombo, Kandy, Puttalam, Kurunegala,

Sri Lanka Police

Group B - Gampaha, Ratnapura, Sri Lanka Army,

Sri Lanka Navy

Group C - Schools, Jaffna, Hambantota, Batticaloa

Group D - Mercantile, Badulla, Kegalle, Air Force, Galle

Girls

Group A - Mercantile, Galle, Colombo, Kurunegala,

Ratnapura

Group B - Schools, Air Force, Kandy, Jaffna
