H. L. B. Gomes passes away

A distinguished Old Cambrian and former Principal of Prince of Wales and Royal College, Colombo and presently the principal of Lycium International School, Panadura and a vice patron of the Prince of Wales College Old Boys' Association H. L. B. Gomes passed away after a brief illness. He was 69 years at the time of his demise.

He was a sportsman during his hey day and his first love was cricket. When he was at the helm of these two prestigious colleges he took a keen interest for the uplift in the sphere of education and sports.

He was president of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and held various posts in the sports bodies of Sri Lanka Schools from time to time.
