Presidential Election thwarted evil forces

The Almighty God saved this country and the people by rejecting retired Army Commander Sarath Fonseka at the last Presidential Election for all the evil forces that were hell bent in destabilizing and decimating the country have been successfully thwarted.

Presidential Advisor and UPFA national list candidate A. H. M. Azwer said so at a propaganda meeting held in Katugampola in the Kurunegala district in support of UPFA candidate Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa.

Evil forces will be completely negated since the people of this country have decided to give strength and stability to a leader who has saved the country from all forms of terrorism and restored dignity and honour of the Motherland.

Referring to the resignation letters obtained by UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe from all his candidates, Azwer said they had no legal validity at all. Wickremesinghe will do well to consult with his own uncle Sam Wijesinghe, former Secretary General of Parliament to understand the futile attempts that he is making to make his MPs impotent even before they are elected to Parliament, he added.

This action of Wickremesinghe proved that he has no confidence even in his deputy leader Karu Jayasuriya. General Secretary Tissa Attanayaka and any one of the aspiring UNP MPs, Azwer said. If he has no confidence in his own candidates, how could he ask the voters of this country to place confidence in his candidates? asked Azwer.
