Conducting a pinkama organised by the Board of Directors and
employees of the institution in memory of an employee who had rendered
40 years of service to Lake House is a fine example to the society, said
Viharadhipati, Sambuddhaloka Viharaya, Colombo, Ven. Prof. Ittademaliye
Indasara Nayaka Thera. Ven. Indasara Thera said so delivering an
anusasana at a Sanghika dana held at the viharaya to mark the third
month remembrance of Mrs. Saroj Wickremasinghe, Former Board Secretary
of Lake House (ANCL) recently.
The pinkama was organised by Lake House and its employees under the
direction of Chairman Bandula Padmakumara and the Board of Directors.
Ven. Indasara Thera said pinkama of this nature was nothing new to Lake
House and Chairman Bandula Padmakumara who always encouraged employees
to indulge in religious activities to better their worldly life. Such
activities also helped to build better employer and employee relations
for the common good and welfare of the institution.
The Ven. Wawwe Dhammarakkhita of the Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali
University said the conducting of a pinkama in memory of a longstanding
employee symbolised the spirit of brotherhood existing among employees
at Lake House.
Merit is a fuel needed to steer the vehicle of life. Paying gratitude
through events of this nature was also a great meritorious deed, the
thera said.
Lake House Chairman Bandula Padmakumara, General Manager Abhaya
Amradasa, Secretary Kumudu Gunawardene and the husband and family
members of Mrs. Saroj Wickremasinghe were also present.
