Four arrested with ammunition

Police arrested four civilians with nearly 300 T-56 ammunition at Omanthai and Akkaraipattu.

Police Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody told the Daily News that the suspects were from Wattala, Kantale, Uswetakeiyawa and Pannamulla areas.

A group of Policemen from the Omanthai Police found 269 T-56 ammunition in a lorry at a road block at Omanthai on Monday. They found the ammunition during general checking.

The three suspects were to be produced before the Vavuniya Magistrate yesterday. Omanthai Police are conducting investigations.
