SLIM - Nielson People’s Awards 2010:

Lowe LDB wins award

Lowe LDB was awarded the TV Commercial of the Year at the SLIM Nielson People’s Awards 2010.

Significantly, three of the four top commercials voted for the people, by the people, were produced by Lowe LDB.

The Agency’s wins follow its recent success at the Effies Awards, where they secured a 100 percent win record.

Two more Lowe LDB Ads, for Sunlight 125 years and Surf Excel Traffic Light were also on the shortlist. Both Lifebuoy and Sunlight ads were totally conceptualized and produced by the Sri Lankan team of Lowe LDB. The Surf TVC was adapted from LOWE India.

Marketing Director Personal Care Ramani Samarasundera, Unilever said: “it’s an example of dynamic teamwork and leadership on all sides. We have a fine partnership with Lowe LDB, which clearly reflects in the work we inspire and create together.”

Lowe LDB CEO, Lilamani Dias Benson said, “We are proud that our work captures the hearts and minds of Sri Lankans everywhere. It’s because of what they do, that these ads also win sales and market share. We are particularly proud of the way Unilever trusts and inspires us. And the way Clients know us as the Agency that gets results!”

The SLIM-Nielson People’s Awards are unique because they reflect the people’s choice.

Winning is not based on the verdict of a panel of jurists: it is decided, instead, by men and women of all ages and from all walks of life.

They are the jury. It is their personal favourites that win the day.

The People’s Awards criteria use the findings of a structured questionnaire that was, this year, sent to seven provinces across Sri Lanka. Thirty categories of brands, personalities and organizations were recognized by the people this year.
