ComBank branches open on Good Friday
The Commercial Bank of Ceylon will keep open 51 of its branches and
supermarket counters to serve customers on April 2, Good Friday, a
statutory bank holiday.
The bank said all over-the-counter banking transactions could be
conducted on that day at 18 branches in the Colombo and Gampaha
districts, the bank’s branches at Batticaloa, Chavakachcheri and Matale,
at six 365-day banking centres in Colombo, Kandy, Negombo, Galle, Ampara
and Jaffna, and at 24 Supermarket Banking Counters.
“The Commercial Bank pioneered the practice of keeping selected
branches open on bank holidays that are not mercantile sector holidays,”
said Commercial Bank Deputy General Manager (Operations) Sanath
Bandranayake.
“This has become popular with our corporate and retail customers
alike, as it ensures there is no delay or disruption in their work,” he
said.
Among the regular branches in Colombo and Gampaha districts that will
remain open on Good Friday are the Foreign Branch, Wellawatte,
Kollupitiya, Kotahena, Maharagama, Borella, Nugegoda, Narahenpita,
Panchikawatte, Union Place, Wattala, Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Nittambuwa,
Kiribathgoda, Battaramulla, Avissawella and Piliyandala. |
