Nepal, Bhutan to hold trade talks

NEPAL: Nepal and Bhutan are holding bilateral trade talks which to began yesterday in the capital Kathmandu.

According to The Kathmandu Post, the Joint Secretary level talks will begin negotiations for a Bilateral Trade Agreement that was proposed by Bhutan, some eight years ago.

Surya Silwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, will be leading Nepal’s delegation, while Sonam P Wangdi is leading the five member Bhutanese team. “Whatever measures need to be taken to finalize the bilateral trade pact, we will focus on that. This first meeting will pave the way for smooth trade relations with Bhutan,” Binod Acharya, Under Secretary at the Commerce Ministry told the daily.
