Warrant re-issued for arrest of Danuna

The Criminal Investigation Department conducting investigation in
connection with an alleged arms deal by Danuna Tillekeratne, son-in-law
of General Sarath Fonseka, yesterday told the Colombo Fort Magistrate
and Additional District Judge Lanka Jayaratne that Danuna Tillekeratne
had deposited a sum of Rs. 450,000 to the account of Wellington Dehoedt,
a director of Hicorp (Pvt) Limited, who had been remanded in connection
with an alleged arms deal.
On an application by the CID the Judge re issued warrant for the
arrest of Tillekeratne who is evading arrest and further remanded the
HICORP Director Dehoedt till March 31. Chief Inspector Mohan Siriwardena
of the CID said a special CID team had searched several places where
Tillakeratne alleged to have been living.
The investigation also revealed that Tillakeratne had been living in
Rome.
The CID said that the investigations into the alleged arms deal had
not been completed.
Chief Inspector Siriwardena also said the suspect director had
forwarded several forged documents to the Army authorities to obtain the
contract to his company.
The CID will submit a comprehensive report in connection with their
ongoing investigations to court on the next date.
The case will be called again on March 31. |
