Taiwan, India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Pakistan,
Indonesia and Malaysia took part. Live models and mannequins displayed
the dazzling creations which oozed glamour and elegance. The events
line-up included activities for junior and senior competitors in
individual and group categories.
The prize giving was held on March 8 with French Ambassador Christine
Robichon as Chief Guest. The winners were chosen by an international
team of judges. Johann Peiris was the only Sri Lankan in the team.
"Being qualified to judge OMC competitions is a privileged qualification
as it is only valid for two years. Once the validity period expires, the
judge has to renew the qualification after facing an exam conducted
especially for industry personnel held soon after the World Hair Asia
Cup," noted SLAHAB Founder President and President of OMC Asia Zone,
Nayana Karunaratne.
