Learning the true art of Feng Shui
Demi HEWAMANNA
The word Feng Shui, is a word now that’s known to many people around
the world as well right here in Sri Lanka. It’s been practiced by many
people but it seems that most of them don’t actually know the true
purpose behind Feng Shui and what a long and ancient history it holds.
Professor
Chew Ken Long |
For this special reason, that is to let followers and people who are
keen to know more about Feng Shui, a special seminar and workshop has
been organised with renowned Dr Professor Chew Ken Long, who will
explain everything that has to be known about Feng Shui.
“During a conversation I had with some people at a conference, I
learned that lot of Sri Lankans are keen on improving themselves,” Prof
Long said when Daily News spoke to him. I specialize in that area, which
is why I thought that I should come and share my knowledge with the
people here.
“I want to show them how to use Feng Shui to enhance life in terms of
career, personality and building a good home environment. I believe Sri
Lanka has its own Feng Shui but the people don’t know how to apply it
properly. There are three civilizations that practice Feng Shui and they
are Egypt, India and China.
“Feng Shui is related with many things such as environment, time
(calendar, astrology) and other things. It’s not politics and it’s no
religion. This is basically making people live in a harmonious
environment to enhance their living lifestyle which will lead to a
positive result such as building up self confidence which is the key to
start anything.”
Feng Shui is over 5,000 years old, and many people around the world
use it for healing purposes, refraining from Western medical practice
and use it to help their businesses and create a peaceful atmosphere in
their homes.
The animals that represent the years also have a great part in Feng
Shui as each year according to the Chinese calendar, the animal sends it
message.
To get a deeper and lengthier meaning of these animals and Feng Shui
the best thing is to attend their workshop which will be held at Hotel
Ramada from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. on March 20, and the seminar which
will be held the Maharagama Youth Centre from 9.00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Tickets will be available at the Sarasaviya Bookshop and Sadeepa
bookshop. Professor Long is bringing 100 pendants, that are made from
jade and he says the first 100 who buy the tickets and attend the
seminar will receive it.
People attending the seminar and workshop will be able to do many
things because; Professor Long would like to make it a long-term
relationship if the seminar goes well. He would like to form a club and
give free service to people who would like to join and become members.
