WP Governor condoles death of Islam dignitary

Western Province Governor Alavi Mowlana in a condolence message on the passing away of Egypt's renowned Islamic dignitary and scholar Sheikh Mohammed Sayed Tantari said the late eminent clergy is well-known for his shathwas (religious addict).

He was trained as one of the great renowned Islamic leaders in the modern world, he said.

Governor Mowlana said he met this well-known scholar and Islamic leaders last week in Cairo when he went to participate in the International Islamic Conference.

He was 81 and his Janaza was held in the Holy city of Mecca yesterday.

The Governor appealed all Jumma mosques in the country to conduct special Janaza prayers today.
