Nurses to get uniform allowance

All nurses will receive their uniform allowance within this month.

The circular has been sent to the heads of departments, a Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry Acting Secretary Dr. Nihal Jayatilleke has sent the special circular.

The ministry will release funds after the Treasury grants funds. Department Heads should inform the amount of funds they need to the Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry finance director before March 15.

They have been instructed to prepare paying documents using `Common 36 voucher', he said.

The ministry has made arrangements to grant the uniform allowance within this month responding to requests by nurses trade unions, he said.
