Prices decline in large cap stock

Prices declined in large cap stock which brought down the indices. Turnover and volumes remained high. Dialog Telekom lost 50 cents to close at 6.75, while Sri Lanka Telecom lost Rs 1.50 to close at Rs 36.50.

Asian Hotels and Properties lost Rs 4.00 to close at Rs 123.00.

Speculative favourite Environmental shares and warrants lost ground as well with the share losing Rs 12.50 to end at Rs 223.75.

The W0000 warrant lost ground by Rs 6.25 to end at Rs 144.25 while the W0001 lost Rs 5.50 to close at Rs 145.00.

At the end of the day the ASPI lost 47 points (-1.2 percent) to end at 3,774.

The more liquid MPI came down 71 points (-1.6 percent) to 4,319. Turnover came to Rs 1.1 billion.

John Keells Holdings closed down by Rs 1.25 to end at Rs 168.75, while Carson Cumberbatch and Company remained unchanged at Rs 545.00. Aitken Spence and Company also remained unchanged at Rs 1,350.00.

Aitken Spence Hotel Holdings was down Rs 4.00 cents to close at Rs 415.00 while John Keells Hotels lost 75 cents to end at Rs 25.25. First Guardian Equities
