Kottawa Dharmapala Kings Super Challenge Cup Chess Tournament 2010
organised by Kottawa Dharmapala Vidyalaya Chess Academy was held
recently at Kottawa Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya.
There were 6 events categorised according to age limits: under 8, 10,
12, 14, 16 and 18.
More than 700 players (Girls and Boys) participated at the
tournament. The tournament was limited for the participants of the
Western Province.All the winners of the events were presented with Gold,
Silver and Bronze medals, cups and certficates.
The first 15 players of all the events were presented with a special
certificate.

Mohan Lal Greru Foundation sponsored the tournament. Western Province
Provincial Councillor Isura Deshapriya and the Executive Principal of
Lyceum Group of International Schools Kumari Greru graced the awards
presentation ceremony.
The Principal of Kottawa Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya Y. Yasaratne acted
as the Tournament Director.
Olympic Chess Medal Winner Suneetha Wijesuriya graced the occasion as
the guest of honour. |
