Ruwantha Ekanayake hit a fine 86 with 10 fours off 101 balls to guide
St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy to their first outright win for the
season when they beat President’s College, Kotte by an innings and 49 -
runs in their schools under - 19 cricket tournament match concluded at
Kotte on Sunday. One of the main contributory factor to President’s
College defeat was their poor batting performance in the first innings
when they dismissed for a paltry 48 in just 22 overs putting the
pressure on themselves to save the match which was a tall order.
President’s College 48 all out in 22 over (Thanoj Withanage 20,
Dananjaya Athauda 3 for 16, Waruna Wijesinghe 2 for 8, Ruwantha
Ekanayake 2 for 12) and 224 all out in 58 overs (L. Kaburugamuwa 55,
