Relics of St Anthony will be in Sri Lanka

The relics of the heart of St. Anthony of Padua will be brought to Sri lanka on March 7. The holy relics will be brought in procession from the Bandaranaike International Airport to Shrine of St. Anthony at Kochchikade.

The relics will be kept for devotees to pay their homage at several shrines in the country including the North. Following is the itinerary in connection with the journey of the relics in Sri Lanka.

March 7, 2010 - Arrival - 13.30 p.m. at Katunayake airport. Short prayer service at the airport in procession to St. Anthony's shrine, Kochchikade.

March 7-9 - St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade.

March 10 - 6 am: Holy Mass at Kochchikade leave to Galle St. Mary's Cathedral. 3 pm: Holy Mass at Galle leave to Bishop's House, Ratnapura. (Night park at Ratnapura).

March 11 - 10 am: Holy Mass at Ratnapura leave to St. Anthony's Bandarawela. (Night park at Bandarawela).

March 12 - 6 am: Holy Mass at Bandarawela leave to St. Mary's Cathedral, Batticaloa. 4 pm: Holy Mass at Batticaloa leave to St. Anthony's Shrine Manippai Jaffna. (Night park at Jaffna).

March 13 - 4 pm: Holy Mass at Passaioor leave to St. Anthony's Shrine, Thalladi and Mannar St. Sebastian's Cathedral. (Nigh park at Mannar).

March 14 - Full day at St. Sebastian's Cathedral Mannar and St. Anthony's, Vavuniya (night park).

March 15 - 6 am: Holy Mass at Vavuniya leave to St. Joseph's Church, Medawachchiya. One hour stop at St. Joseph's Church, Medawachchiya. Benediction, leave to St. Anthony's Shrine, Kottapitiya, Chilaw (night park).

March 16 - Full day at St. Anthony's Shrine, Kottapitiya. (night park at Kottapitiya).

March 17 - 6 am: Holy Mass Kottapitiya leave to St. Anthony's, Pallandeniya. Two hours at St. Anthony's Pallandeniya and leave to St. Anthony's Wahakotte (night park at Wahakotte).

March 18 - 10 am: Holy Mass at Wahakotte leave to St. Anthony's Cathedral, Kandy (night park).

March 19 - 6 am: Holy Mass at Kandy leave to St. Anthony's, Kochchikade.

March 19-21: At St. Anthony's Shrine, Kochchikade. 5.30 pm: Holy Mass at Kochchikade leave to Liyanagemulla.

March 21-23: St. Anthony's Shrine, Liyanagemulla.
