Bus service from Borella to Jana Kala Kendraya

A new bus service from Borella, to the Jana Kala Kendraya, the national craft centre, Battaramulla started yesterday for the convenience of the craftsmen and the public who come to the centre to purchase handicraft products the National Crafts Council said in a press release yesterday.

The council has built 30 craft cottages under the aegis of the Tourism and Rural Industry and Self Employment Ministries. It will be opened next month and will be open daily from 9.00 a.m 7.00 p.m. The council has also built a crafts village Jana Kala Kendraya comprising 12 trade stalls.

Once the 30 craft cottages are opened, the 171 route buses that started at the Palam Thuna Junction will start at the Pelawatte Junction and go through the handicrafts centre and village, the release also said.
