This is the second Ayurveda Research Hospital in Sri Lanka, said
Minister of Indigenous Medicines Tissa Karaliyadda, when he opened the
Ayurveda Research Hospital at Siribopura Hambantota recently.
The Ayurveda system of medicine got the stepmotherly treatment from
successive governments in the past.
It was the UPFA regime that focussed its attention on the Ayurveda
system of medicines and gave its due place. This research hospital will
be developed in three stages.
This will be converted to a fully fledged Ayurveda Research Hospital.
Nurses will be enrolled for the Ayurvedic Research Hospital. The trainee
nurses will be given appointments after being trained for a period of
three years. 3500 applications have been already received from trainee
nurses but only 50 will be selected for training at the initial stage.
The former Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Chamal Rajapaksa said
that it was late D.A. Rajapaksa who opened the Beliatta Ayurveda
Hospital. It will be developed extensively. |
