Job agency cum brothel raided

A special team from the Women and Children’s Bureau raided a brothel jointly operated undercover as a foreign employment agency in Anuradhapura.

A spokesman for the Women and Children’s Bureau said an agency that was sending women to a brothel in Singapore has been raided by a special team of the Women’s Bureau.

“They have chosen women from poor and low income families to dispatch them for this purpose,” he added. The suspects were arrested and produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate.
