Fire destroys 17 refrigerators

An ice-cream and biscuit distribution agency at Hanwella was reduced to ashes following a sudden fire due to an electric a short circuit Sunday.

According to Police Spokesman SP Priyasantha Jayakody, over 17 refrigerators in the agency were completed gutted.

Residents with Kotte Municipal Fire Unit and Hanwella police station assistance doused the fire. Hanwella police are investigating.

Meanwhile, furniture and computers belonging to the primary section of Holy Trinity Tamil School in Nuwara Eliya were completed gutted in a fire Sunday.
