Body-building on Feb. 25 and 26

One hundred and seventy nine competitors from thirty five clubs will take part in a Golden Jubilee Novices Bodybuilding Championship to be held at YMCA Colombo and Bishops College Auditorium (Harcourts (Pvt) Ltd Manufacturing Multifit Sports and fitness Supplement Series) are sponsoring this event.

The semi-finals of the 50th National Novices Championship will be held on February 25 from 8 a.m. onwards at Colombo YMCA. The final on February 26 at 5 p.m. at Bishops College Auditorium.

This is the first event in the calendar which will be held by the newly elected interim committee of Sri Lanka Body Building and Fitness Federation under J.B. Schucroft.

'Sri Lanka Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation President J.B. Schucroft noted that 'Body Building is an individual game. "We need uplift it to international level. We have a good future. Prasanna Pieris bagged the silver medal in the last world championship," said Schucrofbt.

The new interim committee of Sri Lanka Body Building and Fitness Federation received their appointment letters from J.B. Schucroft.

Weight category: 55kg, 60kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg.
