Russia, Greece ties despite crisis
Possibility of changes in national plans :
Russia: Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and his Greek
counterpart Giorgos Papandreou, confirmed on Tuesday the strengthening
of bilateral cooperation despite the ravages of economic crisis in the
world.
Papandreou affirmed his country will emerge stronger from the
economic recession and denied the possibility of changes in national
plans with the Greek involvement in the gas pipeline South Torrent
construction project.
Greece faces a deficit of 300 billion euros, which brought the
country to declare close to a non-payment situation but the visit to
this capital confirms the interest of both parties to maintain the
increase in trade in recent years.
Putin stressed the South Torrent has no financial problems for its
realization and implementation by 2015, noting that Russia signed
bilateral agreements with at least 10 European states to ensure the
money pipeline.
Russia is the biggest exporter of oil to Greece, who also
participates in building the pipeline Burgos-Alexandroupolis.
Russia invited Greece to participate with its companies to build
facilities in Sochi, where the XXII Winter Olympic Games will be held in
2014. Moscow, Prensa Latina |
