Amila a match bag of 12/49

An excellent bowling performance by Amila Aponso a match bag of 12 for 49 enabled St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa to register their seventh outright victory for the season against President’s College, Rajagiriya by 10 wickets in their Under-19 inter-school tournament cricket match played at Moratuwa.

In reply to victory total of 127 on day two Sebs declared at 169 for 3 with Oshada Fernando and Deshan Dias scoring 81 and 66 respectively. In their second essay visitors were skittled out for a paltry 91 runs with Amila Aponso capturing 6 for 9 runs. President’s College: 127 (Pasindu Kodithuwakku 41, Shehan Wanigasuriya 23, Amila Aponso 6 for 40, Oshada Fernando 2/12, Anuk de Alwis 2/11 and 91 (Pasindu Kodithuwakku 32, Samitha de Mel 2/27, Amila Aponso 6/9).

SBC: 137/6, overnight 169/3 decl (Oshada Fernando 81, Deshan Dias 66 and 50/0).

Asoka on top

Asoka Vidyalaya, Colombo has already gained a first innings win over St. Anthony’s College, Wattala in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at Prisons grounds, Mahara.

So far Asoka Vidyalaya has played thirteen matches and recorded eight outright wins and four first innings victories and lost to Kegalu Vidyalaya on first innings.

Anthonians batting first were all out for 132 runs with Sameera Sandamal scoring 57 runs. In reply, at the end of day one, Asoka were all out for 144 runs with Chandima Lakmal claiming 7 for 42.
