Wayamba edge out Kandurata

The semi final line up was completed after the completion of the first round matches of the SLC Inter Provincial limited overs cricket tournament continued yesterday. The table leaders Ruhuna will take on Basnahira South on Friday at Moratuwa while the league runners up Kandurata will meet Wayamba at the NCC grounds on the same day.

Wayamba edged out Kandurata by a solitary run on the Duckworth and Lewis scoring method in a thrilling rain hit SLC Inter Provincial limited overs cricket tournament match worked off at Pallekelle yesterday.

Kandurata: 312 for 4 in 50 overs (T. Paranavithana 51, K. Weeraratne 143, C. Kapugedera 88).

Wayamba: 147 for 3 in 25 overs (J. Kulatunga 50, M. Jayawardena 33, K. Lokuarachchi 20 n.o, S. Randiv 2 for 19).

Basnahira North triumph

Sri Lanka all rounder Angelo Mathews hit a fighting half century with one six and ten boundaries as Basnahira North pulled off an exciting three wicket victory over SLC Combined XI in their Inter Provincial limited overs cricket tournament match worked off at Moratuwa yesterday.

SLC Combined XI: 138 in 33.2 overs (G. Namal 23, H. Fernando 21, K. Vithanage 25, A. Janoda 28, N. Kulasekera 3 for 27, S. Serasinghe 3 for 28, S. Dissanayake 3 for 35).

Basnahira North: 140 for 7 in 21.3 overs (A. Mathews 58, K. Silva 19, S. Serasinghe 19, A. Janoda 4 for 72).
