Lak Sathosa to become biggest supermarket chain

The Lak Sathosa network will be turned into the biggest supermarket
chain in Sri Lanka with 200 trade stalls before the Sinhala and Hindu
New Year festival.
Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs
Minister Bandula Gunawardene told the Daily News that consumers had
expressed satisfaction over the Government's effort and a large number
of consumers have begun to purchase essential commodities from Lak
Sathosa outlets islandwide. He said prices of almost all essential goods
in the market have been slashed after the new Lak Sathosa outlets were
opened in the country.
"We have the biggest supermarket chain in Sri Lanka with 160 Lak
Sathosa outlets.
"The Government's main concern is to bring down the high prices of
essential goods and provide relief to the people", he said. |
