Kandurata play host to Wayamba

Kandurata Province led by Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara will
take on Wayamba Province in an inter-provincial limited overs (50 overs)
cricket match organized by Sri Lanka Cricket will be played at the
Pallekelle Cricket stadium on February 16 (Tuesday) commencing at 10
a.m.
Also in the Kandurata team will be world record holder for the
highest number of wickets for Tests and One day internationals off
spinner Muthiah Muralitharan. This will be a rare opportunity for
cricket fans in the hill capital to watch this legendary cricketers in
action outside the Test matches. Both are products of Kandy.
Also included in the Kandurata Province team is old Trinitian and
all-rounder Sachith Pathirana who is knocking on the doors for
international recognition and will play for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL
Tournament in India shortly. Two other home grown products from Kandy
Kaushalya Weeraratne and Chamara Kapugedera have been included in the
side along with Tharanga Paranawitharana of Kegalle.
Wayamba Province will be led by national player Jehan Mubarak and
will include former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardena.
Sri Lanka's left arm spinner Rangana Herath, Kaushalya Lokuarachchi,
Farveez Maharoof, Ajantha Mendis, Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana and
Chanaka Welagedera making it a very strong combination out to give the
Kandurata team a tough time.
This match will see three top spinners from the Sri Lanka team namely
Muthiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath and Ajantha Mendis in action and it
will be interesting to see who will come out on top.
