No more SLFP electoral organizers
President Mahinda Rajapaksa directed SLFP General
Secretary Maithripala Sirisena yesterday to abolish the party’s
electorate organizer posts and create district party organizer posts
and requested all party organizers to work as a team in each
district, the SLFP headquarters said.

Postal voting applications to be received from today
Applications for postal voting for the April 8,
Parliamentary election will be accepted from today and end on
February 22, Additional Elections Commissioner W. P. Sumanasiri

UPFA to contest all 22 districts
The United People’s Freedom Alliance will
contest in all 22 districts at the April 8 Parliamentary elections.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over nomination papers to the
Hambantota District UPFA candidates yesterday, Mahaweli Development
Minister and SLFP General Secretary Maithripala Sirisena told a
press conference at the Mahaweli Centre yesterday. The SLFP General
Secretary said all Ministers in the present Cabinet would contest at
the poll.

District Leaders and Deputy Leaders of UPFA
groups contesting the forthcoming General Election signed their
nomination papers at the auspicious time yesterday before President
Mahinda Rajapaksa who is also the President of the SLFP and the UPFA,
