Mithun, Prabagaran victorious

A keen tussle between the leading Sri Lankan golfers, Mithun Perera
and K. Prabagaran against India’s team of Chikkarangappa and Ashbir
Saini yesterday at the LG All India Amateur Par 72 Oxford Golf and
Country Club in Pune.
It was evenly contested by both teams with the eye on the Par 72 with
Mithun and Prabagaran on the first round having to strike well together
within par of 144 a combined effort, to make it 2 round.
Both Mithun and Prabagaran did well to get into their stride to see
they were well ahead. Mithun for his part for the 2 rounds struck 74, 75
whilst Prabagaran had 76, 76 - thus making an aggregate of 301 (to be 13
away from par).
The Indian combination of Chikkarangappa 69, 72 and Ashbir Saini 79,
82 for an aggregate of 302 (being 14 away) from par.
The matches will continue today.
