None can prevent two thirds for UPFA

No element would be able to stop the UPFA’s landslide victory with a two thirds in the forthcoming General Elections, Plantation Industries Minister D.M. Jayaratne said.

He said it is obvious that a victory such as two thirds level is essential in the parliament to allocate funds for the projects to be implemented under the Mahinda Chinthana - Idiri Dekma forward drive. Minister Jayaratne was speaking at the meeting organized to educate the tea small holders who gathered to the Ampitiya, Theldeniya Temple recently.

The people who voted for Sarath Fonseka at the Presidential elections are also rallying around the UPFA rejecting the UNP and JVP leadership, he said.

There was no tradition anywhere in the world of voting to select the political party opposed to the incumbent President’s political party, he said. Commenting on the progress of the Plantation sector, Minister Jayaratne said no Government had been able to give such fringe benefits to the plantation sector other than the Government led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The plantation sector as well as workers of the country had been able to work for the success of development targets .
