Retd JMO to inquire allegations against Kandy Mayor

Retired Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) N. Mahendraraja, has been appointed by the Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake to conduct an inquiry on the allegations against the former Kandy Municipal Council Mayor L.B. Aluwihare.

The appointment was made by the Chief Minister under special gazzett notification.

The Kandy Municipal Council Mayor L.B. Aluwihare has been temporarily removed from the post he held with effect from February 2 and Deputy Mayor Suminda Wickremasingha has been appointed to function as Mayor, by Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake.
