Rose Cooray joins HNB

The Board of Hatton National Bank PLC has appointed Rose Cooray as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from February 15, according to a press release issued by the bank.

Cooray had a distinguished career of over 35 years with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Finance and served as the Secretary to the Monetary Board of Sri Lanka prior to her retirement in May 2009.

From 1999-2004, she had served as the Director General - Fiscal Policy and Economic Affairs Department of the Ministry of Finance, on release from the Central Bank. During that period, she had served on the Boards of DFCC Bank, Ceylon Electricity Board, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, Sri Lanka Telecom Ltd., De La Rue Lanka Currency and Security Print (Pvt) Ltd. and Tariff Advisory Council representing the Government of Sri Lanka.
