Death threat to Chilaw Mayor:
Accused gets six months imprisonment

An accused who pleaded guilty to the charges of posing a death threat
to the Chilaw Urban Council Chairman Hilary Prasanna Fernando and
damaging his vehicle was sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended
for five years by Chilaw District Judge K. Sivapakyasundaram yesterday.
Shiron Fernando of Chilaw was charged with having threatened the
chairman by aiming a pistol at his head and damaging his vehicle in
Chilaw town on December 13 last year.
Chilaw police prosecuted.
